He Busted That Sucker

Sounds like a really official medical diagnosis huh?

But when the shoe fits...

 We go with it.

All that moving around and x-raying was hard work.
Mom wanted to take a nap too

No more
racing matchbox cars down the banister
and then tumbling
into a headstand flop down the stairs anymore!
That is now rule #643 in our house.

We have also decided
that
we henceforth will avoid broken bones
  at all cost.

Now just wish me luck
keeping this 2 year old mister in his sling
for 4 whole weeks

He already is saying
"I don' like dis. Take off. Take off!"
and its been 4 days.

I Big

This one is pretty self explanatory.

Big Brother is playing a really cool game
with a really big gun.

I big!
 I play!
Collin turn.
I play!

If you remember from the previous post
"wants it his way, always"
(This immediately happens when it is not going his way.)

What?
 Two guns?
Yes!

Mom says "Let mommy help"
But I do it.
 I big!

See.
 I do it.
I big!

 I do it!
I do it like Caden!
See!
 I big!

Mom says,
"almost little man.
almost."

When You're the Best of Friends

Have you ever ever ever in your life
seen a cuter
 Woody and Buzz

Don't answer that if you have
YOU HAVEN'T

This picture so perfectly captures their personalities too.

Keegan-
notice the mile wide grin
He is ready for the party, whenever, wherever.
He is goofy, happy, always ready to ham it up,
He is super silly, super fun
Gives the biggest sloppiest kisses
and wraps himself around you like a monkey
for huge squishy hugs
He thought trick or treating was the best game ever.

Collin-
notice the hesitant look
He is careful, he is cautious
He makes sure its safe before he joins in.
He likes things to be his way, always.
He already knows, and lets you know,
if something is not fair.
He gives little pecks with his lips perfectly puckered up
and precise little hugs with a few back pats for good measure.
He sings the words to songs,
and its the cutest thing ever.
He wasn't sure
all the walking and talking to strange people
was worth the little amount of candy he collected.

They fight
A Lot

But they also play hide and seek together
neither one gets it
so they both hide
and then jump out and scare each other
and laugh and laugh and laugh
then hide again in the exact same spot
and then do it again.
and again

and they notice when the other one isn't there

Collin says
"Oh no! Keegie, mom, Keegie.  Keegie gone!"
Keegan says
"Where Colly go?"

and then as soon as they see each other
they go back to trying to ignore each other.

Here's to hoping
they will always be the best of friends.
Fingers crossed.

Stinker

 Keegan
was nowhere to be found

Never a good thing with this kid
.
He has hiding spots all over the house
where he goes
when he knows he is being naughty
or has something he knows
he is not supposed to have
and doesn't want to get caught.

He's so naughty it's kind of funny
Even thought it's really not.

It's scary the stuff this kid can figure out
Baby locks and deadbolts are no obstacle
Neither are fridge tops or high shelves

I finally saw these little piggies

and at first that's all I saw.

They were so cute
wiggling and flexing in obvious excitement

Then I saw what he was doing.

 Stinker had sneaked Dad's iPad
and was having the time of his little life.
Dancing and bobbing to the song that was on
with the game he had opened and was "playing"

I so wish I had a picture of his face

Pure delight

But I missed my chance because
as soon as he saw me
he dove under the bed
with the iPad clutched to his chest.

I had to haul him out arching and screaming.
(Dad has very strong feelings about the kids playing/destroying his iPad)

I don't have such strong feelings and let them play mine,
but he KNOWS Dad's is off limits
and that made the victory all the sweeter.

After he stopped screaming and swinging for me
He glared at me for another ten minutes
every time I tried to talk to him.

Then when I finally took my eye off of him for two seconds
and turned around to put Collin's shoes on,
Keegan found the squirt bottle in the bathroom
and proceeded to soak himself and the carpet.

His happy, excited mood returned in full force

Until I rudely took that happiness away too.

I'm a ruin-er
I take all really excellent and exciting things
  away
and try to hide them on high shelves.

Or so I am sure Keegan thinks.

P.S.

This is to prove that he is not a first time offender.
Good thing we have not adopted the three strikes policy in this house
or the kid would be toast

Family Pics 2012

My Dad
 requests very little

So when he asked for an updated family picture
With two months notice
Because he was having some VIP guests stay at his house
(think Quorum of the 12, yep, definitely VIP)

We finally got it together and had our friend
The talented Will Harcourt
Help us out.

With a week to spare.
Better late than never.
Right?

And so here we are.

These are the first Real Family Pictures
 that we have had taken
since the twins were born

   and they are now two.

Sad huh?

But worth the wait for sure.

My Dad said he loves walking by his table
and seeing the new pictures lined up there

Mission Accomplished
(Just in the knick of time)

We’re Gonna Celebrate CHD Awareness Week

By wearing one of these bad boys wherever we go
for the week of February 7-14
IMG_4603

Did you know…

image
that Princess B
IMG_3750
Yes,
THIS Princess B
(Soul Sister on the far Right)
is a CHD Baby?

Well, yes she is.
A member of the very exclusive
“Zipper Club”
as of 2006
image

Did you know that my sister
is a
modern day hero

image

for surviving with her heart and sanity intact,
after seeing Bryn go through so much,

image

and still moving forward
with such unflinching courage.
(Healthy Heart Check in 2009)

CHD stands for
Congenital Heart Deffect
and
1 in every 100 babies
is born with one.
This one was.
The internet says this
“CHD Awareness - Nearly twice as many children die from Congenital Heart Defects in the United States each year as from all forms of childhood cancers combined, yet funding for pediatric cancer research is five times higher than funding for Congenital Heart Defects.”

Holly started a pinterest board with Bryn’s pics and info on it
(I copied her, you can check out mine here)
and made us these ribbons
so we could help raise awareness
and get some research going on.

She’s worth it

image

Don’t you think?
 Oh yes, she is.

Also many many thanks and kudos to the amazing people/doctors/staff at Primary Children's Hospital who took such good care of B. She even had a special plastic surgeon to work on her tiny chest so that her scar would be extra small and skinny. There are such good people out there.

It’s A Christmas Miracle

All five
are looking in the general direction of the camera

No one is crying

No one is screaming

I was able to crop out the candy cane bribes
(that kept the two above mentioned things from happening)

They are all staying in the near vicinity of where they were placed

No one can see what Ryan and I were doing
to get the above pictured children
to do or not do
the above mentioned things

While not all are smiling
the majority don’t look like they are being tortured

I count this venture a whopping success.
Merry Christmas to me
I survived the adventure with my sanity intact

Well, mostly intact anyway.

Handi Andi is Rocking Very Jane Once Again

What do you get
when two sisters
stay up way too late

and spend way to much money on fabric
and don't know how to stop with the simple?

and have a good friend that says,
"hey, you should make
farmers market totes to sell on Very Jane"

 You get a
a whole new section
in the apron shop

and these are lots more fun
than the ugly ones
that you get at the grocery store,

and lots more durable
made of duck cloth
(light weight canvas)
and triple stitched on the sides and bottom

Who doesn't love ruffles?
and pretty fabric
and something that is functional
(Go ahead and chuck it in the washer after a messy day)
as well as good looking?

and if you turn the pocket inside out,
it folds into itself
so you can chuck it in your purse
or diaper bag
or car
and its just a little pocket
That takes up even less space.

Check us out at Very Jane today
for a screaming deal on them.

And keep checking back in the apron shop
to see the new fabrics that we are going to make them in

We have all kinds of ideas that we are still perfecting
(think vintage buttons, and fabric yo-yos and such)

Maybe we'll do a give away this week.
Does anyone still read this blog?
Anyone? Is it even worth a give away?

My laptop is broken (virus :-( )
so I stole holly's to post this.
Hopefully there will be a blog to follow again soon.

But if there are people out there that want to win a tote,
give a hollar.
And then visit us on Very Jane.
We would love that!

National Apron Day

Not kidding.
Its National Apron Day

How awesome is that?

 Especially since today
Just Happens to be the day
that

Is featuring Handi Andi's Apron Shop
as their deal of the day.

Totally not planned that way,
but a really cool coincidence.

At least go and check me out.
Just because maybe you love me
and want to help me out
by getting me lots of page views.

While you are there,
go ahead and sign up for
Very Jane's Deal of the Day emails.
If you want to.
You don't have to
But...

Its all high quality, crafted/handmade stuff.
So cute and a good variety
with AMAZING PRICES/discounts

And if you are a
high quality, handmade, crafty, kind of person
and you might want to sell your stuff on Very Jane.
Give them a little email
and tell them I sent you.
They are great to work with
very nice
and who couldn't use a little extra cash in their pockets?

Not gonna lie,
I have been a nervous wreck
wondering if I was even gonna sell one.
But I have also been super excited
at the thought of selling even one.

So whether you have time to show the love
or not
Happy Apron Day to you!

Happy Apron Day to me!

The Giggle Pile

The straight faces and nice smiles don't last long
Because once one person starts giggling,
the whole pile starts to wobble

and thats even funnier
and with every person laughing

How could the babies resist
such a huge pile of happiness

They didn't really get the point of the game
But they knew they wanted to be part of it.
And they laughed alongside the giggle pile

Because like I said
How could they resist.

The mood from a pile of happiness is contageous
